Description
A true collector’s dream, Monstera Obliqua ‘Peru’ is the rarest of the rare. With its ultra-delicate, paper-thin leaves full of dramatic fenestrations, it makes even Monstera Adansonii look conservative. Native to the tropical forests of Peru, this slow-growing beauty is high-maintenance but totally worth it for serious plant lovers looking to add something truly special to their collection.
Potted in Sexy Soil – Houseplant Moist Mix.
Specification
Light
Prefers bright, indirect light. Too much direct sun can scorch its delicate leaves, while low light will slow its already slow growth. A grow light can be helpful in darker UK months.
Watering
Keep the soil consistently moist but not waterlogged. Water when the top 1-2cm of soil feel dry. In winter, reduce watering slightly.
Temperature
Thrives in warm conditions (20-27°C). Keep away from cold drafts and radiators, as sudden changes can stress it.
Humidity
Needs very high humidity (70%+). Best grown in a terrarium, glass cabinet, or near a humidifier to prevent leaf crisping.
Fertiliser
Feed every 2-4 weeks in spring and summer with a diluted balanced fertiliser to support steady growth. No need to fertilise in winter.
Toxicity
Toxic to pets if ingested, so keep well out of reach.
