Specification
Light
Loves bright, indirect light. It’ll tolerate a touch of morning sun, but keep it out of harsh rays, its leaves are too fabulous for sunburn.
Watering
Keep the soil evenly moist but not soggy. Let the top 2-3cm dry out between waterings. In winter, water less frequently to prevent root rot.
Temperature
Thrives in warm spots between 18–26°C. Keep it away from cold draughts, radiators, or frosty windowsills.
Humidity
High humidity (60%+) is key. A humidifier, pebble tray or a bathroom will help those leaves stay crisp and majestic.
Fertiliser
Feed every time you water in spring and summer with a diluted liquid fertiliser, especially one with extra calcium or magnesium if you’re feeling fancy. Skip feeding in winter.
Toxicity
Toxic to pets if chewed. Best kept on a throne, or at least a high shelf, away from curious animals.
